Dong Phu 2 Industrial Park (also known as Dong Phu Industrial Park - Phase II) was approved according to the Project on developing industrial parks in Hậu Giang province in Official Dispatch No. 329/TTg-CN dated April 28, 2023 of the Prime Minister with a scale of 234 hectares, the planned location belongs to Dong Phu commune, Châu Thành district, Hậu Giang province. The Northeast boundary of the industrial park borders the Cai Cui Be canal; the Southeast borders the Cai Dau canal; the Northwest borders the residential area and the Southwest borders the Song Hau Industrial Urban Area (3200 ha).

The Dong Phu 2 industrial park project was registered by Shinec Group Joint Stock Company to sponsor the development of a 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan from 2022 and was approved by the Hậu Giang Provincial People's Committee to approve the planning task in Decision No. 424/QD-UBND dated March 26, 2023. Currently, the industrial park is still in the process of completing the planning to carry out legal procedures for investment according to regulations.
